Stop misspelling your variable and function names and spare yourself some irritating debugging!
The PHP Code Hints extension for Dreamweaver helps you write your custom variables and functions correctly from the start!
The PHP Code Hints extension adds PHP variables and custom functions to the Dreamweaver code hint menu. It looks for variables and functions in the current document, as well as in any server-side included file.
Use the Adobe Extension Manager to install the PHP Code Hints extension and re-start Dreamweaver. You can start the Extension Manager from Dreamweaver by choosing Commands > Manage Extensions.
In any PHP page, just save the page (File > Save or CTRL+S) and the PHP Code Hints extension will add the variables and custom functions it finds on the current and included pages to the code hints menu.
To use code hints to write a variable, simply type $ and the variable menu will popup. Continue typing to refine the selected value or use the down and up arrow keys, then hit the ENTER key to write the selected variable on your page.
To use code hints to write a function, hit CTRL+SPACE BAR to pop the function menu open and type the beginning of your function name to refine the selected value or use the down and up arrow keys. Then hit the ENTER key to write the selected function on your page.
Currently, PHP Code Hints searches for variables and functions anywhere on the pages, but it does not provide an intelligent parsing of classes, for instance.
Dreamweaver 8 and above.
